B. Backing Up and Recovering Databases
This appendix describes how to back up and recover JP1/AJS3 databases.
If a failure occurs in a database, you can recover the database by performing either of the following three actions:
-
Recover the database by using backup files created by using the backup enhancement function.
For an embedded database for which the backup enhancement function is enabled, restore the database by using the jajs_dbbackup command and the jajs_dbrestore command.
-
Recover the database without using the system log.
Use backup files created at any previous point (while JP1/AJS3 was not running) to recover the database.
-
Recover the database by using the unload log file.
Use backup files and the unload log file to recover the database.
For details about how to back up and recover a database by using the backup enhancement function, see 2.5 Backing up and recovering JP1/AJS3 - Manager by using the backup enhancement function.
The following describes the backup and recovery method that does not use the system log, and the backup and recovery method that uses an unload log file.
