13.1.12 Graphically viewing the JP1/AJS3 operating status
In everyday operations of JP1/AJS3, the need to understand the JP1/AJS3 operating status might arise. This subsection describes how to use the performance report output function to improve the visibility of information such as the amount of data processed by scheduler services and the execution statuses of jobs.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Background
In a company, a JP1/AJS3 system is managing jobs with only one scheduler service, AJSROOT1. You (as an employee of the company) want to check whether the jobs have been run as planned in everyday operations.
(2) Goals
To check whether the jobs are run as planned in everyday operations, you need to check the number of executions for each job type, such as root jobnet, event job, and ordinary job. Also, you need to graphically view such information on a daily or hourly basis.
(3) Approach
By using the performance report output function, you can improve the visibility of information such as the amount of data processed by scheduler services and the job execution statuses.
Here, you output the amount of processed data and execution status of jobs for the AJSROOT1 scheduler service to a performance report on a per-minute basis. Because each performance report is output in CSV format, you can use Excel or a similar program to aggregate or analyze reports, and to graphically view the number of executions by job type or by hour.

(4) Configuration procedure
The procedure for outputting a performance report is as follows:
-
Estimate the size of performance log files.
-
Enable the performance report output function.
Do not perform this step if JP1/AJS3 - Manager version 12-00 or later.
-
Run the ajsreport command to output a performance report in CSV format.
-
Open the performance report with Excel or a similar program, and aggregate or analyze the data in the report.
