7.12.1 Enabling or disabling SSL communication

The following describes how to switch the settings of the manager host, agent hosts, JP1/AJS3 - View host, and Web Console server to enable or disable SSL communication.

For the manager host:

Specify the SSL communication settings of the manager host by following the procedure for configuring settings in JP1/Base. For details about how to enable or disable SSL communication, see the JP1/Base User's Guide.

For an agent host:

Specify the SSL communication settings of an agent host by following the procedure for configuring settings in JP1/Base. For details about how to enable or disable SSL communication, see the JP1/Base User's Guide.

For the JP1/AJS3 - View host:

Enable or disable SSL communication for each communication-destination manager host by editing the file that specifies the names of the hosts that use unencrypted communication (nosslhost.conf).

Remove (from nosslhost.conf) the names of the hosts for which SSL communication is to be enabled, and specify (in nosslhost.conf) the names of the hosts for which SSL communication is to be disabled.

For details about the file that specifies the names of the hosts that use unencrypted communication (nosslhost.conf), see 21.4.6 Details on the settings in the unencrypted-communication host settings file (nosslhost.conf) in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide.

For the Web Console server:

Enable or disable SSL communication between Web GUI and Web Console server by editing the HTTP server definition file (httpsd.conf).

To disable SSL communication, comment out the SSL communication settings in httpsd.conf. To enable SSL communication, do not comment out the SSL communication settings in httpsd.conf.

For details about the HTTP server definition file (httpsd.conf) in Windows, see 3.4.5 Details on the settings in the HTTP server definition file (httpsd.conf) in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide. For details about the HTTP server definition file (httpsd.conf) in UNIX, see 13.3.5 Details on settings in the HTTP server definition file (httpsd.conf) in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide.

Enable or disable SSL communication between Web Console server and manager host for each communication-destination manager host by editing the file that specifies the names of the hosts that use unencrypted communication (nosslhost.conf).
