JP1 Version 12 JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Overview

4.5.2 Adding an execution schedule to a jobnet

You can add an execution schedule to a root jobnet, specifying an execution start date and time. This is possible only for a jobnet that is registered for fixed execution or not scheduled to execute.

Also, you can add an execution schedule to a nested jobnet that is subordinate to a root jobnet that has already been scheduled for execution.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Adding an execution schedule to a root jobnet

When you register a jobnet for fixed execution by specifying a specific date and time, an execution schedule is added. For details about fixed execution by specifying a specific date and time, see 4.1.1(3) Fixed execution.

Any schedule definitions for the added execution schedule are ignored by both root jobnets and nested jobnets. Also, start conditions for jobnets are not monitored, and jobnets with start conditions are executed immediately. When there are nested jobnets defined under the root jobnet to which you have added the execution schedule, the nested jobnets inherit the same scheduled execution time as the root jobnet.

To this operation, you can use JP1/AJS3 - View, the Web GUI, the API function to fixed execution registration, or the ajsentry command. For details on using JP1/AJS3 - View, see 9.2 Adding an execution schedule for a jobnet in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Operator's Guide. For details on using Web GUI, see 16.20 Add dialog box in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Operator's Guide. For details on the fixed execution registration API, see 7.1.6 Fixed execution registration API in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference. Alternatively, for details on the ajsentry command, see the description of ajsentry in 3. Commands Used for Normal Operations in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference.

Note that for a jobnet registered for fixed execution by specifying the number of future generations, when you add an execution schedule that is to take place later than the dummy schedules of the jobnet, dummy schedules earlier than the added execution schedule are not executed, the same as when you temporarily change the execution start time. If you want to execute dummy schedules earlier than the added execution schedule, add the execution schedule to the date and time of the dummy schedules. For details, see 4.5.3(4) Changing to a time that extends beyond the dummy schedule.

(2) Adding an execution schedule to a nested jobnet

You can add an execution schedule to a nested jobnet that is subordinate to a root jobnet that has already been scheduled for execution. However, you cannot add an execution schedule to a nested jobnet that has already been scheduled for execution. The units in the nested jobnet to which an execution schedule is added are scheduled as described below.

For the added execution schedule of a jobnet, you can also cancel the changes and return the jobnet to its original execution time.

To this operation, you can use JP1/AJS3 - View, the Web GUI, the API function to change plan (change time), or the ajsplan command. For details on using the change plan (change time) API, see 7.1.12 Change plan (change time) API in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference. For details on the command operations, see the ajsplan in 3. Commands Used for Normal Operations in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference.
