18.1.4 Backing up and restoring the registry

This subsection describes how to back up and restore the registry.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Backing up the registry

To back up the registry:

Right-click on the Start button and then select Run.

The Run dialog box appears.
In the input field, enter regedit and then click the OK button.

Registry Editor starts.
From the tree view, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\HITACHI\JP1/Asset Information Manager.
From the menu, select File and then Export.

The Export Registry File dialog box appears.
Specify the storage location and file name, then click the Save button.

The backup file is created at the specified location.

To restore the registry:

Right-click on the Start button and then select Run.

The Run dialog box appears.
In the input field, enter regedit and then click the OK button.

Registry Editor starts.
From the tree view, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\HITACHI\JP1/Asset Information Manager.
From the menu, select File and then Import.

The Import Registry File dialog box appears.
Specify the obtained backup file and then click the Open button.

The specified backup file is restored.

Note: To use a backup file for restoration, you must specify the same Asset Console version and path as when the backup was made.
