13.20.2 Notes on the use of reserved words
This subsection describes some notes on using reserved words in a parameter file and command arguments.
-
Specify reserved words in a parameter (or argument) so that the length of the character string after replacement does not exceed the maximum number of digits that can be specified in the parameter (or argument). If the character string after replacement exceeds the maximum number of digits of the parameter, the character string after replacement will be truncated in units of reserved word or character string.
- Example:
-
Assume that \PKGID-is-distributed-to-\HOST-relay-system is specified as a job name. In this case, the length of the job name always exceeds 32 bytes after the reserved words are replaced with the actual information. (This is because the length is 34 bytes even when the reserved words are replaced with a single character.) If 32 bytes is reached before the end of the -relay-system part, the job name is truncated at the end of the string with which the \HOST reserved word was replaced. If 32 bytes is reached before the end of the string with which the \HOST reserved word is replaced, the job name is truncated before that reserved word (up to ...-is-distributed-to-).
-
Specify reserved words in a parameter (or argument) so that, after replacement of reserved words, the character string will exclude prohibited characters defined for the parameter (or argument).
