11.2.8 Allowing each JP1 user to use different custom jobs
You can set JP1/AJS3 to allow each JP1 user to use different custom jobs.
By saving the custom job registration information for each JP1 user in a separate folder, different custom jobs can be displayed in the Jobnet Editor window for each JP1 user who is logged in.
Custom jobs are displayed in the Custom Jobs tab of the icon list in the Jobnet Editor window. This tab displays only the custom jobs that are registered in the folder that contains the custom job registration information for the JP1 user who is currently logged in. This folder is called the custom job registration information folder. For JP1 users who share the same custom job registration information folder, the same custom jobs are displayed in the icon list.
If the multiuser remote desktop connection function is enabled, we recommend that you set JP1/AJS3 to allow each JP1 user to use different custom jobs. For details about how to enable the multiuser remote desktop connection function, see 11.2.7 Allowing multiple users to concurrently use JP1/AJS3 - View via remote desktop connections.
To allow each JP1 user to use different custom jobs, you must specify the settings in the user-specified option file. You must also specify the custom job registration program to be used for registering custom jobs. These two settings are described in the following subsections.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Specifying the settings in the user-specified option file
How to specify the settings in the user-specified option file:

The specification conventions for folder-name are as follows:

(2) Setting the custom job registration program for each JP1 user
How to set the custom job registration program:
Procedure
-
Create the custom job registration information folder.
Create a folder named extend directly under the custom job registration information folder (custom.dir), and then, directly under the extend folder, create the folder that you specified in the user-specified option file.
For details about the custom job registration information folder, see (1) Specifying the settings in the user-specified option file.
-
Set the read and write permissions for the custom job registration information folder that you created in step 1.
-
Create a shortcut to the following file:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\HITACHI\JP1\JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AJS2V\custom.dir\Cjobregm.exe
The default value for %ALLUSERSPROFILE% is system-drive\ProgramData.
-
In the Properties dialog box for the shortcut that you created in step 3, open the Shortcut tab, and then, in Start in, specify the custom job registration information folder that you created in step 1.
-
From the shortcut that you created in step 3, register the custom jobs that the target JP1 user can use.
Cautionary notes
-
If you want to use the extended custom job settings file, you must place it in the custom job registration information folder that you created.
-
You must copy the following file to the custom job registration information folder that you created:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\HITACHI\JP1\JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AJS2V\custom.dir\CJX.xsd
The default value for %ALLUSERSPROFILE% is system-drive\ProgramData.
-
If the folder specified in the user-specified option file does not exist, the KAVV103-E message is output and the custom job registration information is saved in the folder that is used when a folder name is not specified in the user-specified option file.
