7.2.10 Conditions of Substitute String window

The Conditions of Substitute String window is used to identify the substitute strings. This window appears when you click Add button or Edit button in the Substitute String page in the Conditions of Variable String window.

The following describes the displayed items.

Step ID:

Select the step ID. In the pull-down list, the step IDs of the recorded steps are listed. None is selected by default. You are required to select this item.

Source of substitute string:

Select the source of substitute string.

To acquire the substitute string from HTML:

Specify the From HTML. For details about the settings, see (1) Settings to acquire the substitute string from HTML.

To acquire the substitute string from HTTP header:

Specify the From HTTP header. For details about the settings, see (2) Settings to acquire the substitute string from HTTP header.

The From HTML is specified by default.

String to exclude from substitute string check box:

Select this check box when there is a string to exclude from the acquired substitute string. This check box is not selected by default.

When you select this check box, specify either or both String just before and/or String just after.

String just before:

Specify the String just before when there is a string to exclude before the acquired string. If there are multiple matched strings, first match from the top is excluded. Specify this item within the range from 1 to 255 bytes. Any spaces, tabs, or linefeed characters preceding or following the entered character string are deleted.

If you specify the Attribute in the Where to include substitute string, you cannot specify double or single quotation marks (", '), because double or single quotation marks are the separators for attribute values.

String just after:

Specify the String just after when there is a string to exclude before the acquired string. If there are multiple matched strings, first match from the bottom is excluded. Specify this item within the range from 1 to 255 bytes. Any spaces, tabs, or linefeed characters preceding or following the entered character string are deleted.

If you specify the Attribute in the Where to include substitute string, you cannot specify double or single quotation marks (", '), because double or single quotation marks are the separators for attribute values.

Import button:

Import the substitute string settings. You can import the substitute string setting of another step. When you click this button, the Select Source of Substitute String Settings window appears.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Settings to acquire the substitute string from HTML

This subsection describes the settings when you specify the From HTML in the Source of substitute string.

From HTML:

Specify this button when you acquire the substitute string from HTML. You specify an element name to contain the substitute string, a filtering condition, a condition to choose one from multiple matched elements.

Element name:

Specify the element name to contain the substitute string within the range from 1 to 1,023 bytes. If you specify the From HTML, this is a required setting. Any spaces, tabs, or linefeed characters preceding or following the entered character string are deleted.

Filtering conditions:

Specify the condition to filter the matched elements if there are multiple matched elements. Specify the necessary conditions using the Add, Edit, and Delete button. The List of filtering conditions displays the filtering conditions.

  • Add button

    Add a filtering condition to filter matched elements. When you click this button, the Filtering Conditions window appears.

  • Edit button

  • Edit the selected filtering condition in the List of filtering conditions. When you click this button, the Filtering Conditions window appears. If you do not select a filtering condition, displays an error message.

  • Delete button

    Delete the selected filtering condition in the List of filtering conditions. If you do not select a filtering condition, displays an error message.

When there are multiple matched elements, Use n th match.

Specify the n th match to contain the substitute string counting from the top within the range from 1 to 1,023 when there are multiple matched elements that match the Element name and Filtering conditions. The default value is 1. If you do not specify, the substitute string is acquired from the first match from the top.

Where to include substitute string:

Specify the source of the substitute string from the Content or Attribute. The Attribute is selected by default.

Content:

Specify this button when the content of the element contains the substitute string.

Attribute:

Specify this button when the attribute value of the element contains the substitute string. When you specify this button, you are required to specify the Attribute name.

In the Attribute name, you specify the attribute name within the range from 1 to 1,023 bytes.

You cannot use = to specify the attribute name. The Attribute name is not case sensitive. Any spaces, tabs, or linefeed characters preceding or following the entered character string are deleted.

(2) Settings to acquire the substitute string from HTTP header

This subsection describes the settings when you specify the From HTTP header in the Source of substitute string.

Header name:

Specify the header name of the HTTP header within the range from 1 to 1,023 bytes.

Value of header:

Specify the value of the HTTP header within the range from 1 to 4,095 bytes.
