3.2.1 Before uninstallation
This section provides notes about uninstalling and unsetting up PFM - Agent for Service Response.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Note on the OS user permission required for uninstallation
When you uninstall PFM - Agent for Service Response, make sure that you use an account that has Administrator permissions.
(2) Note on the network
Uninstalling a Performance Management program does not delete port numbers defined in the services file.
(3) Notes on programs
-
If you uninstall PFM - Agent for Service Response while Performance Management programs and services or other programs that reference Performance Management files (such as Windows Event Viewer) are running, some files and folders may remain in the system. In such a case, manually delete all files and folders under the installation folder.
-
If you attempt to uninstall PFM - Agent for Service Response while Performance Management programs and services or other programs that reference Performance Management files (such as Windows Event Viewer) are running, a message prompting for a system restart may be displayed. If this occurs, restart the system to complete the uninstallation procedure.
-
If PFM - Base and PFM - Agent are both installed on the host, PFM - Base cannot be uninstalled unless you first uninstall PFM - Agent. First, uninstall PFM - Agent, and then uninstall PFM - Base. Similarly, if PFM - Manager and PFM - Agent are both installed on the same host, PFM - Manager cannot be uninstalled unless you first uninstall PFM - Agent; uninstall PFM - Agent, and then uninstall PFM - Manager.
(4) Notes on services
If you uninstall only PFM - Agent, the information on the services that can be displayed using the jpctool service list command is not deleted. In this case, delete the service information by using the jpctool service delete command on the host on which the PFM - Manager is installed. To apply the deletion of the service information to the PFM - Web Console host, you need to execute the jpctool service sync command to synchronize the agent information on the PFM - Manager host and PFM - Web Console host.
For details about how to delete service information, see the section on service deletion in the chapter explaining installation and setup in the JP1/Performance Management Planning and Configuration Guide.
(5) Othernotes
-
If you uninstall a Performance Management program from a host on which PFM - Web Console has been installed, close all Web browser windows before starting the uninstallation procedure.
-
You cannot uninstall PFM - Agent for Service Response when the IE Recorder or IE Probe Daemon is running. Before uninstallation, stop IE Recorder or IE Probe Daemon.
