2.1.6 Pausing and resuming a measurement

PFM - Agent for Service Response measures the time it takes to respond to a request issued to a monitoring target, and you can pause this measurement. This can be done while, for example, the HTTP or SMTP server monitored by PFM - Agent for Service Response is stopped due to maintenance. You can also resume the paused measurement.

To pause or resume a measurement, execute the jpcvtaskctl command on a measurement-condition basis. For details about the command, see jpcvtaskctl (pauses/resumes the measurement of a task) in 11. Commands.

The following figure provides an overview of how to pause or resume a measurement in PFM - Agent for Service Response.

In addition, you can pause or resume the measurement at a predefined time by defining execution of a command as a custom job for JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3. To do so, define the command as a job that is executed on the Windows host (custom PC job). For details about the custom job, see the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Linkage Guide.
