Use the model file when you want to reset the contents of the configuration file for setting up an Item storage database. Note that you can change the name of the configuration file for setting up an Item storage database to any name except for its extension (.bat).

Use an absolute path of 133 bytes or less to specify the path to the folder in which to store the Item storage database to be set up. Note that you can expand the database in the same folder multiple times. You can specify half-width alphanumeric characters, periods (.), underscores (_), left parentheses ((), right parentheses ()), yen signs (\), and half-width spaces. You cannot specify any of the following folders:

If you store the Item management database and Item storage database on the same disk, disk I/O contention might occur. To avoid disk I/O contention for efficient use, we recommend that you store the Item storage database and Item management database on separate disks.

The disk that has the folder in which to store the Item storage database must have sufficient free space.

The Configuration file for setting up an Item storage database (jssitemstoredbinfo.bat) must be created or edited with a character encoding that is compatible with the system locale of the machine on which JP1/Service Support is installed. You can use one of the following character encodings:
