14.4.2 Actions to be taken if normal operation is disabled
While you are using JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Agent, normal operation might be disabled or an error might occur. The following describes possible problems and actions to be taken:
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Communication with a higher system is disabled
If a job causes an error, the agent might not be able to communicate with a higher system normally. Use the following methods to make sure that the communication environment has been set up correctly:
-
Use a ping command to check whether communication with the higher system is possible.
-
To check the current TCP/IP communication environment settings, execute the IPCONFIG /ALL command from the command prompt.
-
To check only the host name, execute the HOSTNAME command from the command prompt.
(2) Installation or packaging fails
If an attempt to install a package or perform packaging fails, check whether there is sufficient disk space. For details about the disk space requirement, see the Job Management Partner 1 Version 10 Job Management Partner 1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Overview and System Design Guide.
(3) Jobs cannot be executed
Jobs can be executed only for managed devices. Use window operation to confirm that the device for which you want to execute a job is a managed device.
