13.2.1 Types of commands

This subsection describes the types of commands related to distribution by using Remote Installation Manager, and classifies them according to purpose.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Commands related to job creation and execution

These commands can be executed on the management server by a user who has permission to update the directory where JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Manager is installed. These commands connect to the managing server on the local host, and create and execute jobs.

  • Install package job

  • Transfer package to relay system job

  • Batch delete packages on relay system job

  • Send package, allow client to choose job

This command creates and executes jobs related to remote collection. The following four types of jobs can be created and executed:

  • Collect files from client job

  • Collect files from client to relay system job

  • Acquire collected files from relay system job

  • Delete collected files from relay system job

This command also unarchives collected archive files.

This command suspends or resumes file transfer.

(2) Commands related to packaging

These commands can be executed on the management server by a user who has permission to update the directory where JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Manager is installed. The dcmpack.exe command connects to the managing server specified by Packager, and executes packaging. Other commands connect to the managing server on the local host, and delete, back up, and recover packages.
