11.3.1 How to hold a job

When the job hold facility is enabled, the JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 Job Hold dialog box appears in the following timings:

Package name

This column shows the name of the package.

Operation

This column shows the operation (that is, execution or holding) to be done for the job.

Timing

This column shows the execution timing specified for the package.

Size

This column shows the size of the package.

Date

This column shows the date at which the job arrived at the managed computer.

OK button

This button executes the operation selected by the Execute or Hold button, and then closes this dialog box.

Execute button

This button immediately executes the selected (highlighted) job.

Hold button

This button temporarily holds the selected (highlighted) job.

Confirm when the job operation is changed.

Select this check box if you want to open a confirmation dialog box each time job operation is changed by the Execute or Hold button, or the OK button is clicked.

n seconds until operation

"n" indicates the remaining number of seconds of dialog box display time specified in the agent settings.

The following describes how to hold a job by using the JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 Job Hold dialog box.

  1. Select a job, and then specify the method of job operation in the Operation column.

    Click the Execute or Hold button to change the job operation, and then click the OK button. If you want to open a confirmation dialog box each time one of these buttons is clicked, select the Confirm when the job operation is changed. check box.

  2. Click the OK button.

    The specified operation is performed for the selected job.

    In the JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 Job Hold dialog box, n in n seconds until operation indicates the remaining number of seconds of the dialog box display time specified in the agent settings. This indication disappears when you perform an operation (such as clicking) in this dialog box. If the specified display time passes without any operation in this dialog box, and the remaining number of seconds reaches 0, the operation shown in the Operation column is performed, and then this dialog box closes.
