3.4.3 Registry settings on agents

If the computer on which the agent is installed is running Windows Server 2003, you can configure the system to continue processing the dcmpack command after the user logs off Windows.

To have the system continue dcmpack command processing after logging off Windows, create the registry value shown below in the registry key SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Hitachi\JP1/IT Desktop Management - Agent\DMP. In 32-bit operating systems, create the value in the SOFTWARE\HITACHI\JP1/IT Desktop Management - Agent\DMP registry key.

Name

CmdLogoffContinue

Type

REG_SZ

Data

YES

Notes:
  • If you want command processing to continue after logging off Windows, the command must be executed from the service. Commands executed by any other method will not continue processing after the user logs off, even if configured to do so in the registry.

  • If the computer on which the agent is installed is running an operating system other than Windows Server 2003, commands executed from the service will continue processing after logoff regardless of the registry settings.

  • If JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Manager and JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Agent are installed on the same computer, and you want processing of the dcmpack.exe (packaging) command to continue after logging off Windows, enter the registry setting for JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Manager.

  • The behavior of the system will vary depending on the combination of registry settings and the command argument /LC. For details, see 13.20 Command operation at logoff according to registry setting and logoff option.
