6.1 Flow of installation and setup

There are two types of installation: new installation and overwrite installation. New installation installs JP1/IM - Service Support on a machine on which JP1/IM - Service Support has not yet been installed. Overwrite installation installs JP1/IM - Service Support on a machine on which JP1/IM - Service Support has already been installed.

The following describes the flow of installation and setup of JP1/IM - Service Support for each type of installation.

New installation

This installs JP1/IM - Service Support on a machine on which JP1/IM - Service Support has not yet been installed. The following figure shows the flow of new installation and setup.

Overwrite installation

This installs JP1/IM - Service Support on a machine on which JP1/IM - Service Support has already been installed. There are two types of overwrite installation:

  • Version upgrade installation

    This installs JP1/IM - Service Support 10-50 on a machine on which an earlier version of JP1/IM - Service Support is installed.

  • Repair installation

    This installs either a corrected version or the same version of JP1/IM - Service Support 10-50 program on a machine on which JP1/IM - Service Support 10-50 has already been installed.

Performing a product upgrade of JP1/IM - Service Support

You can perform a product upgrade of JP1/IM - Service Support (Standard) to JP1/IM - Service Support Advanced Edition. The machine on which you install JP1/IM - Service Support Advanced Edition must be running one of the following operating systems:

  • Windows Server 2003 (x64)

  • Windows Server 2008 R2

  • Windows Server 2008 (x64)

  • Windows Server 2012

JP1/IM - Service Support (Standard) means the following JP1/IM - Service Support product:
