2.2.1 Basic system configuration
The JP1/IM - Service Support environment can consist of just a Web browser and a server. The server runs the JP1/IM - Service Support product itself, and the operator uses the Web browser to log in and display the user interface.

(1) JP1/IM - Service Support (Standard)
The following figure shows an example of a basic system configuration for JP1/IM - Service Support (Standard):
The following describes the programs required on each computer and server.
- Item management console

A computer from which a JP1/IM - Service Support user logs in to JP1/IM - Service Support from a Web browser to view and work with Items. Internet Explorer must be installed on the Item management console.
- Item management server

A server where Items are managed. JP1/IM - Service Support must be installed on the Item management server. In JP1/IM - Service Support (Standard), Items are managed in an Item management database.
(2) JP1/IM - Service Support Advanced Edition
The following figure shows an example of a basic system configuration for JP1/IM - Service Support Advanced Edition.
The following describes the programs required on each computer and server.
- Item management console

A computer from which a JP1/IM - Service Support user logs in to JP1/IM - Service Support from a Web browser to view and work with Items. Internet Explorer must be installed on the Item management console.
- Item management server

A server where Items are managed. JP1/IM - Service Support must be installed on the Item management server. In JP1/IM - Service Support Advanced Edition, Items are managed in an Item management database and an Item storage database.
