1.6 Range of JP1/IM - Service Support products

JP1/IM - Service Support is provided as the following products to accommodate different scales of system and organizational needs:

Each product is described below.

JP1/IM - Service Support (Standard)

A product intended for use with medium-scale systems. Users of JP1/IM - Service Support (Standard) can manage Items in an Item management database.

JP1/IM - Service Support Advanced Edition

In addition to the core feature set of JP1/IM - Service Support (Standard), this product offers additional features intended for large-scale systems. Users of JP1/IM - Service Support Advanced Edition have use of an Item storage database in addition to an Item management database. Large numbers of past Items that could not be managed in JP1/IM - Service Support (Standard) due to space constraints can be transferred to the Item storage database in JP1/IM - Service Support Advanced Edition.

The Item storage database is composed of two storage areas. You can set up and expand each area independently, allowing you to respond flexibly to changes in circumstances as the number of Items increases. Like Items stored in the Item management database (managed Items), you can view the Items stored in the Item storage database (stored Items) from the user interface of JP1/IM - Service Support.

The following figure shows the information managed in the Item management database and the Item storage database.
