A.6 Monitoring any status that a user has reported
The color of the AJS2USER symbol allows you to determine a status that a user has reported. In addition, you can obtain detailed information regarding the status in the Alarms Browser.
When the OpenView Status Report job is executed, an SNMP trap for reporting the status is sent to NNM. NNM displays the symbol in the color corresponding to the reported status.
After a status is reported to NNM, even if NNM stops monitoring the status, it does not reset the symbol. When this occurs, reset the symbol manually.
This section describes how to interpret the AJS2USER symbols shown in the node submap, how to read messages shown in the Alarms Browser, and how to reset the status of the AJS2USER symbols.

The AJS2USER symbols have no severity settings.

The default symbol colors might differ depending on the NNM you are using.
Note that the color of the AJS2USER symbol does not change even if the JP1/AJS3 stops operating.
(2) Reading messages in the Alarms Browser
When NNM receives an SNMP trap from JP1/AJS3 - Manager or JP1/AJS3 - Agent, it displays detailed information regarding the reported status in the Alarms Browser.
The following describes how to display the Alarms Browser as well as the message format and message meaning shown in the Alarms Browser.

(3) Resetting AJS2USER symbols
If monitoring status terminates on the NNM side, reset the AJS2USER symbol to either the Normal range or Unknown.
To reset the AJS2USER symbol:

Click the AJS2USER symbol that you want to reset, and from Administer choose JP1/AJS2 Manager, Initial Symbol and Normal or Unknown.
The AJS2USER symbol is reset to a Normal or an Unknown status.
