15.3.42 Preferences dialog box
The Preferences dialog box sets up an environment for the JP1/AJS3 - View windows. This dialog box contains the following pages:

The auto login settings in the Login page and all settings in the Other page apply to each instance of JP1/AJS3 - View.
The start mode settings in the Login page and all settings in the Main, Editor/Monitor, Schedule, and General pages apply to each instance of JP1/AJS3 - View and each login user.
The following explains the items displayed for each of the pages.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Login page
Set the auto login parameters and the start mode.
In the Auto login area, you can configure JP1/AJS3 - View to automatically connect to a specified JP1/AJS3 - Manager host on startup. This eliminates the need to log in manually from the Login screen.
In the Start mode area, you can set a start mode that limits the range of features available in JP1/AJS3 - View.
The following figure shows the Login page in the Preferences dialog box.

The following explains the displayed items.
- Auto login

Set information about automatic login.
- Auto login

Specify whether to automatically connect to JP1/AJS3 - Manager when you start JP1/AJS3 - View. The default is No.

Yes
Select this if you want to automatically connect to JP1/AJS3 - Manager. If you choose Yes, you can specify User name, Password, and Host to connect.

No
Select this if you do not want to automatically connect to JP1/AJS3 - Manager. If you choose No, User name, Password, and Host to connect fields become inactive.

- User name

Specify a login user name. This is available if you select Yes for Auto login. The default is a blank.
- Password
-
Specify the password associated with the user name of a login user. This is available if you select Yes for Auto login. The entered characters are displayed like "*".
If a password is already set, it does not appear.
- Host to connect

Specify the host name of JP1/AJS3 - Manager to be connected automatically. Use a character string of up to 255 bytes. This is available if you select Yes for Auto login. The default is a blank.
- Start mode

Specify a start mode and function menus.
- Start mode

Specify the start mode to be applied when JP1/AJS3 - View starts. The default is Normal. However, the default is Compatible when upgrade installation is performed from version 8. The available start modes are as follows:

Normal
Starts the JP1/AJS3 - View window in the Normal mode.

Monitoring
Starts the JP1/AJS3 - View window in the Monitoring mode.

Compatible
Starts the JP1/AJS3 - View window in the Compatible mode.

- Set Function Menu button

When the start mode is Normal, use this button to specify the function menus to be displayed in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window). Click the Set Function Menu button to display the Set Function Menu dialog box. For details, see 15.3.43 Set Function Menu dialog box.
(2) Main page

The following explains the displayed items.
- List area of main window

Specify the settings for the list area and detailed information area in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window).
- Icon color
-
Set whether the icon color in the list area in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) follows the status or results of the unit. The default is Use result color. You can set the following items.

Use status color
Displays the icon color according to the status.

Use result color
Displays the icon color according to the results.

- Show color image in status and result
-
Specify whether to display color images representing execution status, execution results, and delays in Status and Result in the list area and Status in the detailed information area in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window). The default is No.

Display status of a job group
The status of a job group displayed in the list area in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) is a possible status for the root jobnet. These statuses are classified by priority. The following table shows the priority of status for the root jobnets and job groups (a smaller value means a higher priority). When the status of a job group is determined, the highest priority of status for the units under the job group is sent to the higher-level unit, and is displayed as the status of the job group.

Delay display for a job group
Like the delay display for a job group, the delay of a job group displayed in the list area in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) is connected to a character string of the status display, for example, "Ended normally (Delay)". When the delay of a job group is determined, the highest priority of delay for the units under the job group is sent to the higher-level unit, and is displayed as the delay of the job group.
There are four types of delay, which are grouped into two types for display in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window).
The following table shows the priority of delay for the root jobnets and job groups (a smaller value means a higher priority).

The following figure shows how to determine the status and delay for job group A under which job group B, jobnet C, and jobnet D are defined. This example assumes that (Delay) for jobnet C means the start-time delay of a root jobnet and (Nest delay) for jobnet D means the end-time delay of a nested jobnet.

Determining the status of job group A
According to Table 15-24, the priority of status is "6" for job group B (Now running), "3" for jobnet C (Killed), and "7" for jobnet D (Skipped so not exe.). Since the highest priority is "3", "Ended abnormally" for priority 3 is determined to be the status of job group A.

Determining the delay of job group A
According to Table 15-25, the priority of delay is "5" for job group B (No delay), "3" for jobnet C (Delay, i.e., start-time delay of a root jobnet), and "2 " for jobnet D (Nest delay, i.e., end-time delay of a nested jobnet). Since the highest priority is "2", "(Nest delay)" for priority 2 is determined to be the delay of job group A.

- Double-click on jobnet

Specify the window displayed when you double-click a jobnet in the list area of the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window). The default is Open jobnet editor. You can specify the following items.

Open jobnet monitor and show status
If you double-click a jobnet, the Jobnet Monitor window displays the latest status.

Open jobnet monitor and show result
If you double-click a jobnet, the Jobnet Monitor window displays the latest result.

Open jobnet editor
If you double-click a jobnet, the Jobnet Editor window appears.

- Exclusive edit when Jobnet Editor starts

Specify the status of the exclusive editing mode when you want to display the Jobnet Editor window from the JP1/AJS3 - View window. The default is No. You can specify the following status of the exclusive edit mode:

Sets the exclusive edit mode when the Jobnet Editor window is started.

No
Does not set the exclusive edit mode when the Jobnet Editor window is started.

- Monitoring mode when Jobnet Monitor starts

Set the monitoring mode to display the Jobnet Monitor window from the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window). The default is Monitor the previous status.
Note that the Jobnet Monitor window displays the generations in the status and result fields of the list area in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) regardless of the mode specified here when you display the Jobnet Monitor window from the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Summary Monitor window).
You can set either of the following monitoring modes:

Monitor the previous status
The Jobnet Monitor window displays only the generations appearing in the status and result fields of the list area in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window).

Monitor the latest status and result
If you select Open jobnet monitor and show status, the latest status appears.
If you select Open jobnet monitor and show result, the latest results appear.

(3) Editor/Monitor page
On the Editor/Monitor page, specify the settings for the Jobnet Editor window and Jobnet Monitor window. Such settings include whether to display comments in the map area, the colors used for highlighting for preceding and succeeding units, and the operations to be performed when units are double-clicked in the list area.

The following explains the displayed items.
- Map area

Set information about the map areas in the Jobnet Editor window and Jobnet Monitor window.
- Unit name new line
-
Specify whether to specify the line-feed location of the unit name when displaying the unit icon in the map area of the Jobnet Editor window or Jobnet Monitor window. The default is Not selected. You can set the following items:
-
Selected
Enables you to specify the line-feed location of the unit name.
-
Not selected
Does not allow you to specify the line-feed location of the unit name. The system executes a line feed in the unit name after 10 bytes. Selecting Not selected causes Characters per line to become inactive.

- Characters per line
-
If you want to specify the line-feed location in the unit name, specify the number of characters from the beginning of the unit name regardless of whether the characters are single-byte or multi-byte characters. You can specify 1 to 30. The default is a blank.
- Display comments
-
Specify whether to concurrently display the comment below the unit name in the map area in the Jobnet Editor window and the Jobnet Monitor Window. The default is No. You can set the following items.

Yes
Displays the comment below the unit name in the map area in the Jobnet Editor window and the Jobnet Monitor Window.
If the comment contains a blank (space), it will be treated as a end-of-line character, so that the rest of the comment appears on the next line.

No
Does not display the comment below the unit name in the map area in the Jobnet Editor window and the Jobnet Monitor Window.
If you select No, the Displayed characters, New line character, and Hide comment when items become unavailable.

- Displayed characters
-
If you want to display the comment below the unit name, specify the number of characters from the beginning of the comment regardless of whether the characters are single-byte or multi-byte characters. You can specify 1 to 80. The default is 80.
- New line character
-
When displaying a comment below the unit name, specify the comment line-feed location using characters. You can use New line character to select the character you want to specify. You can specify the following values:

The default is " " (space). If None is selected, the system displays the comments in the range of Displayed characters for all unit icons. If you specify a value other than None and " " (space), a line-feed occurs after the specified character. If " " (space) is specified, the comment wraps to the next line regardless of whether the space is a single-byte space or a multi-byte space. If another character is specified, the comment wraps to the next line only when the character is a single-byte character.

- Hide comment when
-
If you do not want to display a command in any unit, specify a symbol at the head of the comment you want to hide. In Hide comment when, select the character you specify. You can hide a comment for each unit even if you specify Yes for Display comment. You can set the following values.

- Highlighted display

Specify the colors for the base unit, the directly preceding and succeeding units of the base unit, and relation lines when you specify highlighting in the Jobnet Editor window or Jobnet Monitor window.

Base unit
Specify the color for the base unit when you specify highlighting in the Jobnet Editor window or Jobnet Monitor window. The default is Red (R, G, B=224, 0, 0).

Direct preceding
Specify the color for a directly preceding unit of the base unit and the relation line between the directly preceding unit and the base unit when you specify highlighting in the Jobnet Editor window or Jobnet Monitor window. The default is Orange (R, G, B=255, 128, 0).

Direct succeeding
Specify the color for a directly succeeding unit of the base unit and the relation line between the directly succeeding unit and the base unit when you specify highlighting in the Jobnet Editor window or Jobnet Monitor window. The default is Dark pink (R, G, B=255, 128, 160).

Select button
Click this button to change the color specified for Base unit, Direct preceding or Direct succeeding, or create a display color. When you click the Select button, the Select Color dialog box appears. For details, see 15.3.44 Select Color dialog box.

- List area
-
Specify the settings regarding the list area in the Jobnet Editor window and Jobnet Monitor window.
- Double-click on unit
-
Specify the operation to be performed when you double-click a unit in the list area in the Jobnet Editor window or Jobnet Monitor window. The default is Open monitor details or define details dialog box. The available options are as follows:

Open monitor details or define details dialog box
In the Jobnet Editor window, when you double-click a unit in the list area, the Define Details - [icon-name] dialog box appears.
In the Jobnet Monitor window, when you double-click a unit in the list area, the Monitor Details - [icon-name] dialog box appears.

Select and show on center of map area
When you double-click a unit in the list area, the map area is scrolled and the unit appears in the center of the map area, selected. When you select the Highlight preceding/succeeding rows check box, the preceding and succeeding units are highlighted. This check box is not selected by default.

(4) Schedule page
The following figure shows the Schedule page in the Preferences dialog box.

The following explains the displayed items.
- Execution time
-
Set the first execution time in seconds. The system uses the first execution time to estimate the end time when first executing a jobnet or job.
The system estimates the end time based on the average duration of jobnet or job execution. Since there is no average for the first jobnet or job execution, specify the first execution time.
- First execution time
-
You can specify 1 to 86,400. The default is 1,200 seconds.
- Display hours
-
Select hours for which to display the daily time area in the Daily Schedule window.
- Daily display time
-
Select whether to display the time area in the Daily Schedule window in 24 or 48 hours. You can select 24 hours or 48 hours. The default is 24 hours.
- Monthly execution simulation
-
Monthly execution simulation is the process of determining an execution schedule by adding the execution time of jobnets or jobs to the schedule rules.
For registration for planned execution, the system computes the next execution schedule upon the end of the previous execution schedule. For the monthly schedule, the system displays the subsequent execution schedules by simulation.
- Simulation
-
Indicates whether to simulate execution for a monthly schedule. You can specify Perform or Do not perform. The default is Do not perform.
- Tree area of the Daily/Monthly windows
-
Specify the order of the units displayed in the tree areas of the Daily Schedule window and the Monthly Schedule window.
- Order display by
-
Select whether the unit names are to be displayed in the order of name or execution time. There are two choices: Name and Execution time. The default is Name.
-
Name
The unit names in the tree area are displayed in ascending order. The sorting order differs depending on the type of the JP1/AJS3 - Manager character code set.

Execution time
Starting with the oldest execution start date shown in the screen, the unit names in the tree area are displayed in ascending order.

- Root jobnet with no schedule
-
Indicates whether to display root jobnets with no schedule and whether to display planning groups, in the tree areas of the Daily Schedule (Hierarchy) window and the Monthly Schedule window. The default is Display for both cases.

Select this if you want to display both root jobnets with no schedule and planning groups in the tree areas of the Daily Schedule (Hierarchy) window.

When you display the execution schedule of unregistered units in the Monthly Schedule window, the tree area appears as follows, depending on the settings of Monthly:

Display is selected
Unregistered units are always displayed.

Hide is selected
If an execution schedule exists within the display period, unregistered units are displayed in the tree area. If no execution schedule exists within the display period, unregistered units are not displayed in the tree area.

- Planning group
-
Indicates whether to display planning groups when you call the Monthly Schedule window with a planning group specified in the JP1/AJS3 - View window.
- Planning group
-
Indicates whether to display planning groups in the Monthly Schedule window. The default is Display.
If you select Display and open the Monthly Schedule window with a planning group or its upper-level job group specified, the schedule for the root jobnet immediately below the planning group will be merged for display.
(5) General page
Used to change the display color of execution statuses, results, and delay. To change the display color, select the appropriate item in the List of icon colors list, and then choose the color you want in the Change icon color dropdown list. Then, if you click the OK button, the status-color mapping is changed.

For "Not executed + Ended" and "Skipped so not exe.", different colors will be mapped depending on whether there is an execution schedule that falls within the range of generations for execution. However, for those execution statuses, results, and delays that are displayed with text only, only Not executed + Ended or Skipped so not exe. appears.
- Select button

Choose this button to change the display colors assigned to the execution statuses, execution results, and delays, or to create your own colors. If you choose Select button, the Select Color dialog box appears. For details, see 15.3.44 Select Color dialog box.
Note that you can choose the Select button only if you have selected an item in the List of icon colors list.
- Priority of delay display color

If the unit status of abend, warning or delay occurs concurrently, specify the priority of color to display the icon. The selected default is Abend > Warning > Delay. You can select the following items.

Abend > Warning > Delay
Prioritizes abend, warning and delay in that order. Select this to set the priority for the icon color for delay lower than abend and warning.

Abend > Delay > Warning
Prioritizes abend, delay and warning in that order. Select this to set the priority for the icon color for delay between abend and warning.

Delay > Abend > Warning
Prioritizes delay, abend and warning in that order. Select this to set the priority for the icon color for delay higher than abend and warning.

- Hold plan
-
If the unit is in the wait status and you specify the hold attribute, specify whether to display the icon and status/result color image in the color of Hold plan. The default is Do not display. You can specify the following values:

Display
If you specify the hold status for the unit, selecting this displays the icon and status/result color image in the color of Hold plan.
-
Do not display
Displays the icon and status/result image in the color of Wait for, regardless of whether you specify the hold attribute for the unit. If you select Do not display, Only if hold attribute changes becomes inactive.

Only if hold attribute changes
If you select this item, the system determines that you set a hold plan when the following (A) is met.
If you do not select this item, the system determines that a hold plan is set when either of the following (A) and (B) is met.
(A) You specify the hold attribute for the execution generation to be displayed.
(B) You do not change the hold attribute for the execution generation to be displayed and you specify Hold for the unit attribute.
You can select Only if hold attribute changes only when you select Display.

Specify yes for the UNITDEFINERELOAD environment setting parameter at the destination JP1/AJS3 - Manager to ensure that the displayed hold plan matches the status transitions at unit execution.

If you specify Hold if prev.='abend' or Hold if prev.='warning' or 'abend' for the root jobnet hold attribute, the system assumes No to ask hold scheduled. However, the status may change to Being held during execution.

You can also display hold scheduled for pseudo-schedule in the Daily Schedule window and Monthly Schedule window. To do this, deselect Only if hold attribute changes.

The system may simultaneously detect Hold plan and Delayed for the execution generation to be displayed. In this case, the system gives display priority to the color of Delayed.

This page sets items on troubleshooting.

- Troubleshooting

Set the upper limit value for the trace level and log file.
- Trace level
-
Select the level of information to be output to a log file. You can set 1, 3 or 5. The default is 3. The higher the value, the more detailed the output information.

- Max. log file size

Set the maximum log file size in megabytes. You can specify 1 to 4,512. The default is 1.

The value set in the Login page is saved in the JP1/AJS3 local file. This local file is not, however, locked for specific security. Use the auto login function in an environment for OS security.
