15.3.8 Define Details - [Jobnet] dialog box (for a root jobnet)

The Define Details - [Jobnet] dialog box (for a root jobnet) is used to define details about a root jobnet.

This dialog box contains the items displayed in common, and also contains the following pages:

Organization of this subsection

(1) Items displayed in common

The following figure shows the items displayed in common.

Figure 15‒15: Items displayed in common in the Define Details - [Jobnet] dialog box (for a root jobnet)

[Figure]

The following explains the items displayed in common.

Unit name

Specify a unit name. Use a character string of up to 30 bytes. The default is a blank.

Comment

Specify a comment for the unit. Use a character string of up to 80 bytes. The default is a blank.

Exec-agent

Specify the execution agent name or execution agent group name to be assigned the task of job execution. Use a character string of up to 255 bytes. If the version of the connection-target JP1/AJS3 - Manager is 09-50 or later, you can specify a macro variable instead. If you omit this value, the system uses the default execution agent.

Note that if you omit Exec-agent for a job in a jobnet, the system uses this value.

For details about execution agents, see 5.1.1 Execution agents in the manual Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Overview.

Cautionary note

If you selected Queueless Agent for Exec. service for a job in the jobnet, specify the execution host name.

This item appears as a text box when the version of JP1/AJS - View or the connection-target JP1/AJS - Manager is earlier than 09-50.

From version 09-50, this item appears as a combo box in which you can select an execution agent. You can also directly enter an execution agent name into the combo box. The content of the list component of the combo box differs depending on whether execution agent profiles are enabled, and the contents of those profiles.

When execution agent profiles are disabled

The list is empty.

When execution agent profiles are enabled
  • If the specified jobnet is associated with an execution agent profile

The list displays the execution agents permitted for the specified jobnet.

  • If the specified jobnet is not associated with an execution agent profile

If the upper-level unit is associated with an execution agent profile, the list displays the execution agents permitted for the upper-level unit.

If the upper-level unit is not associated with an execution agent profile, the list will be empty.

(2) Definition page

The following figure shows the Definition page in the Define Details - [Jobnet] dialog box (for a root jobnet).

Figure 15‒16: Definition page in the Define Details - [Jobnet] dialog box (for a root jobnet)

[Figure]

The following explains the displayed items.

Concurrent exec.

Select whether to concurrently execute multiple jobnets. You can specify Disable or Enable. The default is Disable. With Enable selected, you cannot specify Hold if prev. = 'abend' and Hold if prev. = 'warning' or 'abend' for Hold in the Attributes page.

No. logs to keep

Specify the number of execution result logs you want to save. You can specify 1 to 99. The default is 1. However, if you specify the maximum number of logs to keep in an environment setting parameter, you can specify 1 to 999. For details about how to specify the environment setting parameter MAXSAVEGEN, see 2.2.2(78) MAXSAVEGEN in the Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide 2.

If you want to decrease the number of logs to keep for a root jobnet that is already registered for execution, click the OK button. A confirmation message (KAVV430-Q) appears and asks you whether you want to change the number of logs to keep.

Priority

Specify the priority of a job. You can specify None or 1 to 5. The highest priority is 5. The default is None. This priority setting is used when the priority of a job is set to None and the priority of the upper-level nested jobnet of the job is set to None. If the priority of a job and of all upper-level jobnets is set to None, the priority value set for the environment setting parameter DEFAULTPRIORITY is applied to that job.

In UNIX, if, as a result of mapping, the job is to be executed by a non-root user, specifying 4 or 5 will result in an authority error when the job is executed.

Time-out period

Specify a time period after which a time-out should occur if a root jobnet registered for execution is not executed on the schedule date. The value is the period of time to pass before the Skipped so not exe. state is set up. The specified value is always effective, irrespective of the registration procedure. For immediate registration, the date of registration is used as the date when execution starts. The default is Use system settings.

You can specify one of the following:

  • Use system settings

Executes the jobnet based on the settings of the EXECDEFER environment setting parameter.

  • 1 day

Suppresses jobnet execution if one day has passed since the execution schedule date.

  • 2 days

Suppresses jobnet execution if two days have passed since the execution schedule date.

  • Unlimited

Waits for hold release, an event or execution for unlimited amount of time.

Schedule option

Dictates how the system handles execution schedules when a jobnet fails to complete before the scheduled start time of the next generation. The default is Schedule skip. You can specify one of the following:

  • Schedule skip

Skips the jobnet execution schedule having the same start time. Then it starts a next-generation jobnet that does not have a conflicting start time.

  • Multi-schedule

Waits until the execution of the current-generation jobnet has been completed, and upon completion, executes the next generation. If Enable is selected for Concurrent exec., executes the next generation at its start time, without waiting for the completion of the current-generation jobnet.

Monitor jobnet

When using jobnet execution time to monitor the end delay of the jobnet, select Time-required-for-execution and specify the required jobnet execution time in minutes. You can specify 1 to 2,879. In the default mode, Time-required-for-execution is not selected.

Exec. order control

Specify whether to control the execution order of root jobnets.

  • Yes

Connects to a jobnet connector to control the execution order of root jobnets.

When you click Yes, Jobnet Connector and Exec. order method are enabled.

  • No

Does not control the execution order of root jobnets.

The default selection is No.

Connection range

Specify the range of connection for a jobnet connector. The default selection is Same service.

  • Same service

Click this option to connect to a jobnet connector under the same scheduler service.

  • Other service

Click this option to connect to a jobnet connector under a different scheduler service. When you click this option, you can enter names in Connection host and Connection service.

Connection range appears for JP1/AJS3 - View and JP1/AJS2 - View 08-50 or later.

Connection host

Use a character string of a maximum of 255 bytes to specify the host name of the host on which the jobnet connector to be connected is defined.

This text box is available when you choose Yes in Exec. order control and choose Other service in Connection range.

The text box is not available when you choose No in Exec. order control or choose Same service in Connection range.

The text box is blank by default.

You cannot specify single-byte spaces, tabs, and linefeed characters.

You do not need to specify a host name here when the jobnet connector belongs to a different scheduler service but exists on the same host.

This text box appears for JP1/AJS3 - View and JP1/AJS2 - View 08-50 or later.

Connection service

Use a character string of a maximum of 30 bytes to specify the scheduler service name of the scheduler service for which the jobnet connector to be connected is defined.

You must specify a scheduler service name here when you choose Yes in Exec. order control and choose Other service in Connection range.

This text box is not available when you choose No in Exec. order control or choose Same service in Connection range.

The text box is blank by default.

You can specify single-byte alphanumeric characters and symbols (! # $ % + @ - . _).

This text box appears for JP1/AJS3 - View and JP1/AJS2 - View 08-50 or later.

Jobnet Connector

Use a character string of a maximum of 930 bytes to specify the full unit name of the jobnet connector to be connected. This text box is blank by default.

An input error occurs if you specify a unit name with any of the following characteristics:

  • A unit name that does not begin with a forward slash (/)

  • A unit name where part of the unit name between forward slashes (/) exceeds 30 bytes#

  • A unit name ending with a forward slash (/)

#

No error occurs when Other service is chosen in Connection range.

This text box is enabled when you choose Yes in Exec. order control.

Exec. order method

Specify whether to synchronize the execution of the jobnet with the start time of the jobnet connector.

  • Synchro

Synchronizes with the start time of the jobnet connector. The execution of the root jobnet waits until the jobnet connector is executed.

  • Asynchro

Starts the execution of the root jobnet without waiting for the execution of the jobnet connector.

Asynchro is chosen by default.

This section is enabled when you choose Yes in Exec. order control.

(3) Attributes page

The following figure shows the Attributes page in the Define Details - [Jobnet] dialog box (for a root jobnet).

Figure 15‒17: Attributes page in the Define Details - [Jobnet] dialog box (for a root jobnet)

[Figure]

The following explains the displayed items.

Hold

Specify whether to place the unit in the hold status in advance. The default is No. You can select one of the following items:

  • No

Does not hold the root jobnet.

  • Hold if prev. = 'abend'

If the result of the previous root jobnet execution is "Ended abnormally", "Skipped so not exe.", "Invalid exe. seq.", "Interrupted", or "Killed", this option holds the root jobnet. If you select Enable for Concurrent exec. in the Definition page, you cannot specify this option.

  • Hold if prev. = 'warning' or 'abend'

If the result of the previous root jobnet execution is "Ended abnormally", "Ended with warning", "Skipped so not exe.", "Invalid exe. seq.", "Interrupted", or "Killed", this option holds the root jobnet. If you select Enable for Concurrent exec. in the Definition page, you cannot specify this option.

  • Yes

    Holds the root jobnet.

Type

Set the unit type to Normal or Recovery. The default is Normal. Specify Normal for a root jobnet.

Owner

Specify the owner of the unit. Use a character string of up to 31 bytes. The default is the login JP1 user name. Note that if the upper-level unit-attribute inheritance function has been set for the upper-level jobnet, the default is the owner of the upper-level unit.

JP1 resource group

Specify a JP1 resource group name. Use a character string of up to 63 bytes. You can specify alphanumeric characters and underscores (_). The default is the JP1 resource group name of the upper-level unit. If you select a blank, you are not authorized to access this group.
