This subsection explains how to customize the Main Scope window and the Sub Scope window.

Organization of this subsection

(1) List of customization methods

You can customize the Main Scope window and the Sub Scope window in the following four ways:

(2) Customization by using the user configuration file (ajs2coview_opt.conf)

The user configuration file (ajs2coview_opt.conf) allows the customized information to take effect for each JP1 user who logs in to JP1/AJS3 Console View.

To perform customization by using a user configuration file:

  1. For the user configuration file, copy the model file (ajs2coview_opt.conf.model) to any folder.

The folder where the ajs2coview_opt_en.conf.model file is stored is shown below.

    JP1/AJS3 - View-installation-folder\conf

  2. Use a text editor to open the copied model file.

  3. Specify the settings you want to customize and then save them.

Delete the # preceding options that you want to customize, and then specify a value.

  4. Change the file name to ajs2coview_opt.conf and move the file to the folder below.

The folder where the user configuration file is to be stored is shown below.

In Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Vista:

    %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Hitachi\JP1\JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AJS2V\conf\JP1-user-name#

The default value for %ALLUSERSPROFILE% is system-drive\ProgramData.

In Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP Professional:

    JP1/AJS3 - View-installation-folder\conf\JP1-user-name#

    #

When you use any of the following names as the JP1 user name, the folder that is created for each JP1 user name is enclosed in parentheses ( ):

    - A device name such as NUL, CON, AUX, COM1 to COM9, LPT1 to LPT9, and PRN

    - A name in the format of device-name.extension

    - A name starting with a period (.)

  5. Start JP1/AJS3 Console View.

After the user configuration file has been saved, JP1/AJS3 Console View starts and the customization details are enabled.

Cautionary note

If there is no user configuration file, JP1/AJS3 Console View uses default values.

(3) Customization by using the system common settings file (ajs2coview_common.conf)

The system common settings file (ajs2view_common.conf) is enabled for each host started from JP1/AJS3 Console View. A customization that uses this file is applied to each host regardless of the login JP1 user.

If you want to apply the customization settings to multiple hosts, copy the system common settings file to the applicable hosts.

To perform customization by using the system common settings file:

  1. For the system common settings file, copy the model file (ajs2coview_common.conf.model) to any folder.

The folder where the ajs2coview_common.conf.model file is stored is shown below.

    JP1/AJS3 - View-installation-folder\conf

  2. Use a text editor to open the copied model file.

  3. Specify the settings you want to customize and save them.

Delete the # preceding options that you want to customize, and then specify a value.

  4. Change the file name to ajs2coview_common.conf and move the file to the folder below.

The folder where the system common settings file is stored is shown below.

In Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Vista:

    %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Hitachi\JP1\JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AJS2V\conf

The default value for %ALLUSERSPROFILE% is system-drive\ProgramData.

In Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP Professional:

    JP1/AJS3 - View-installation-folder\conf

  5. Start JP1/AJS3 Console View.

The customization is enabled from JP1/AJS3 Console View, which starts after the system common settings file is saved.

Cautionary notes
