13.2.1 Logging in to JP1/AJS3 Console Manager

To log in to the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host:

  1. Start JP1/AJS3 Console View.

Starting method is shown below. After it is started, the Login screen appears.

    There are two methods:

    • On the Start menu of Windows, choose Program, JP1_Automatic Job Management System 3 - View, and then Application Monitoring.

    • In the tree area on the Tool Launcher screen of JP1/IM - View, double-click Integrated Management, Job System Operation, and then Application Monitor.

  2. Enter the user name, password, and host to connect.

    • User name

Specify the JP1 user name that you use for a login with single-byte alphanumeric characters. Even if you have entered an uppercase letter, it is recognized as the lowercase letter.

    • Password

Enter the password of the JP1 user that you use for a login. The letters are case-sensitive.

    • Host to connect

Specify the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host to which you log in. You can specify either the host name or IP address.

  3. Click the OK button.

The Main Scope window (monitoring mode) appears.

Cautionary notes
  • Only a JP1 user who has been registered to the authentication server can log in to the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host.

  • In the Main Scope window displayed after a login, the contents definition of a root business scope varies depending on the JP1 user who logs in and the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host to be connected.

Supplementary notes
  • Setting the automatic login in the Preferences dialog box of JP1/AJS3 Console View enables the automatic login at the start of JP1/AJS3 Console View without a login operation (without displaying the Login screen). For setting the automatic login, see 16.3.10 Preferences dialog box.

Alternatively, using the -a option in the ajscon command also enables the automatic login. For details on the ajscon command, see the explanation of ajscon in 3. Commands Used for Special Operation in the manual Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference 2.

  • You can specify settings so that the JP1 user names used for the previous logins or the names of previously connected hosts are not displayed. Hiding previously used login information can prevent unauthorized users from logging in to the system by using an authorized user name. For details, see 14.2.6 Preventing the previously used login users and connected host names history from appearing on the Login screen.

  • We recommend that you disable the predictive conversion functionality of character input software such as IMEs. If the functionality is enabled, entry candidates might be displayed when you enter text for User name, Password, or Host to connect even though you have disabled the display of previously used login information.
