9.9 Interrupting a jobnet being executed

This subsection describes the procedure for interrupting a jobnet being executed.

You can also use the ajsintrpt command to interrupt the execution of a jobnet. For details of the command, see the description of ajsintrpt in 2. Commands in the manual Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference 1.

To interrupt the execution of a jobnet:

  1. In the JP1/AJS3 - View window, in Function Menu, click Status Monitor.

    Status Monitor is now selected.

  2. In the tree area, click the job group that manages the jobnet whose execution you want to interrupt.

The job group you clicked is now selected.

The root jobnet appears in the list area.

  3. Click the root jobnet containing the target jobnet, choose View, Daily Schedule, and then Hierarchy.

The Daily Schedule (Hierarchy) window appears.

  4. In the tree area, click the target root jobnet.

The root jobnet you clicked is now selected.

  5. In the schedule area, for the root jobnet selected in step 4, click the colored mark whose execution you want to interrupt. Alternatively, in the execution result list, click the line whose execution you want to interrupt.

  6. Choose Operations and then Interrupt.

A message dialog box appears to confirm that the execution of the jobnet can be interrupted.

  7. Click the Yes button.

The execution of the jobnet is interrupted.

The colored mark in the schedule area is displayed in pale red (default), which indicates the interrupted status.

The change is also reflected in the execution result list.

Cautionary notes
  • You can interrupt only the jobnets being executed.

  • When you interrupt a jobnet, communications are exchanged and the database in JP1/AJS3 is updated. Therefore, if you select many jobnets and interrupt all of them at one time, the overall burden on JP1/AJS3 is severe, and is likely to adversely affect operation due to processing delays and other problems. If you want to interrupt multiple jobnets, insert a pause of a few seconds to a few minutes after each jobnet interruption.

Note that when you interrupt a jobnet containing many event jobs or interrupt multiple jobnets containing event jobs at one time, the restrictions set for successive execution of the ajsintrpt command take effect for the number of event jobs ending due to interruptions. For details, see B.8 Limits for the event/action control in the Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 System Design (Configuration) Guide.

Supplementary notes
  • If there is an executing job when the interrupt for the jobnet execution is requested, the jobnet is interrupted after the execution of the job ends.

  • You can also interrupt the execution of a jobnet in the following windows:

    - JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window)

    - JP1/AJS3 - View window (Summary Monitor window)

    - Monthly Schedule window

    - Jobnet Monitor window

    - Search window

  • For details on how to re-execute an interrupted jobnet, see 9.11 Re-executing jobnets and jobs.
