5.3.2 Moving units

This subsection describes how to move a unit defined in a jobnet to another jobnet.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Moving units only

To move only the units defined in a jobnet to another jobnet:

  1. In the map area of the Jobnet Editor window, display the jobnet that contains the unit or units are to be moved.

  2. Select Exclusive edit.

  3. Use one of the following methods to select the icon or icons of the target units:

If you want to select one unit:

    Click the icon.

If you want to select multiple units:

Either use the mouse to enclose a range of icons, or hold down the Ctrl key and click the desired units.

If you want to select all units:

Either click Edit and then Select All, or hold down the Ctrl key and press the A key.

To release the selected status, click the icon if only one icon is selected. To deselect multiple icons, hold down the Ctrl key and click the selected icons.

  4. In the Jobnet Editor window, choose Edit and then Cut.

  5. In the map area of the Jobnet Editor window, display the destination jobnet.

  6. Select Exclusive edit.

  7. Choose Edit and then Paste.

The icon or icons are moved. The place where the icon or icons are moved depends on the number of icons selected in step 3.

    When one icon was selected

The icon is moved to the place in the map area where the mouse was clicked last.

    When multiple icons were selected

The icons are moved to the places that are automatically calculated using the last clicked point in the map area as the guide.

When icons are moved, the unit names are changed so that there are no multiple instances of the same unit name.

Cautionary notes
  • If you close the Jobnet Editor window or disable Exclusive edit after performing a Cut operation, you can perform a Paste operation. However, you cannot perform a Paste operation if Exclusive edit is enabled in another Jobnet Editor window, or if the units you cut have been referenced from another window.

  • If you use Copy or Cut for a jobnet connector, the connection-destination jobnet of the replaced jobnet connector does not change. Accordingly, the connection between the new jobnet connector and the connection-destination jobnet might not work. Make sure that you check the connection-destination jobnet after you paste a jobnet connector.

Supplementary notes
  • When you move a unit, the attributes defined for the unit are also moved.

  • When you move a unit, relations are canceled.

(2) Moving units and relations

To move multiple units including the relations between the units:

  1. In the map area of the Jobnet Editor window, display the jobnet that contains the unit or units are to be moved.

  2. Select Exclusive edit.

  3. Use one of the following methods to select the icons for the target units:

If you want to select multiple units:

Either use the mouse to enclose a range of icons, or hold down the Ctrl key and click the desired units.

If you want to select all units:

Either click Edit and then Select All, or hold down the Ctrl key and press the A key.

To release the selected status, click the icon if only one icon is selected.

  4. In the Jobnet Editor window, choose Edit and then Cut.

  5. In the map area of the Jobnet Editor window, display the destination jobnet.

  6. Select Exclusive edit.

  7. Choose Edit and then Paste (Extension).

The icons are moved to the destination map area. The move begins from the position at which the mouse was last clicked. The icons are pasted with the same layout as that of the source map area, when possible. If it is impossible to paste the icons with the same layout, the starting position is changed to maintain the same layout.

Note that moved units are renamed to avoid duplication of unit names.

Cautionary note

After executing Cut, you can also execute Paste (Extension) by closing the Jobnet Editor window or by clearing Exclusive edit, unless Exclusive edit is selected in another Jobnet Editor window.

Supplementary note

When a unit is moved, the attributes defined in the unit are also moved.
