12.1.2 Disaster recovery prerequisites scope of support
This subsection describes the prerequisites for running JP1/AJS3 in disaster recovery mode, and the scope in which this type of operation is supported.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Prerequisites
The following prerequisites apply to the disaster recovery operation of JP1/AJS3:
-
The hardware used as the shared disks conforms to the following specifications:
-
The main volume and remote volumes both guarantee the sequence of write operations.
-
The hardware guarantees consistency between the main and remote volumes when the copy process between the shared disks stops.
-
Data cannot be written to the remote volume at the remote site while data is being copied between the shared disks.
-
-
The main site and remote site both run version 09-10 or later or JP1/AJS3 - Manager. However, for a configuration in which the logical host names are the same at the main site and remote site, JP1/AJS3 - Manager must be version 10-50 or later.
-
The configuration of the JP1/AJS3 databases is a standard configuration or a standard configuration without ISAM.
-
JP1/AJS3 is running in a logical host environment.
-
When running JP1/AJS3 in a cluster system, the conditions described in 11.1.1 Prerequisites for JP1/AJS3, and the scope supported by JP1/AJS3 are met.
(2) Support scope
JP1/AJS3 supports the following scope in terms of disaster recovery operation:
-
The shared disks used by logical hosts running JP1/AJS3 - Manager
-
Creation of a disaster recovery environment from a new logical host running JP1/AJS3 version 09-10 or later
You cannot create a disaster recovery environment from a logical host running JP1/AJS3 version 09-00 or earlier.
Problems that occur in the course of JP1/AJS3 operation are outside the scope of support if the conditions described (1) Prerequisites are not met.
