8.11.1 Enabling and disabling restricting connection sources

To enable or disable the restricting of connection sources, change the CONNECTIONRESTRICTION environment setting parameter while neither the JP1/AJS3 service nor the JP1/AJS3 Queueless Agent service are running. If you change the connection source restriction setting while either service is running, and then start the other service, the settings for the services might conflict.

By default, restricting connection sources in JP1/AJS3 is disabled. For details about how to enable this setting, see 4.4 Settings for restricting connections to JP1/AJS3 in the Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide 1 (for Windows) or 14.4 Settings for restricting connections to JP1/AJS3 in the Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide 1 (for UNIX).

The following describes the steps for disabling restricting connections sources in JP1/AJS3:

  1. Stop the JP1/AJS3 services.

    In Windows:

In Windows Control Panel, open the Services administrative tool, and stop the following service:

    - JP1/AJS3 service

    - JP1/AJS3 Queueless Agent service#

    In UNIX:

Execute the following commands to confirm that all processes have stopped:

    # /etc/opt/jp1ajs2/jajs_spmd_stop

    # /opt/jp1ajs2/bin/jajs_spmd_status

    # /opt/jp1ajs2/bin/ajsqlstop#

    # /opt/jp1ajs2/bin/ajsqlstatus#

    #

This operation needs to be executed only if queueless jobs are used.

If the host is a logical host, detach the logical host from the queueless agent service by using an ajsqldetach command or another method, without stopping the service.

  2. Execute the following command to set the CONNECTIONRESTRICTION environment setting parameter:

    jajs_config -k "[{JP1_DEFAULT|logical-host-name}#\JP1AJS2COMMON]" "CONNECTIONRESTRICTION"="none"
    #

Specify JP1_DEFAULT for the physical host. For logical-host-name, specify the name of a logical host.

For details about the CONNECTIONRESTRICTION environment setting parameter, see 2.9.2(5) CONNECTIONRESTRICTION in the Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide 2.

  3. Restart the services that you stopped in step 1.

Restricting of connection sources is disabled.

If you detached the logical host from the queueless agent service in step 1, execute the ajsqlattach command to attach the logical host.

  4. Delete or move the connection permission configuration file.

If necessary, delete or move the connection permission configuration file.
