8.9.2 Changing the IP address of the host that runs JP1/AJS3
Note the points shown below when you change the IP address of the host on which JP1/AJS3 is running or when you change an IP address that begins with the execution host name#.
- #
-
This applies when you change the hosts file, DNS settings, jp1hosts information, and jp1hosts2 information, and then change the IP address obtained by resolving the execution host name.
-
Before changing the IP address, stop the following services, and confirm that they are stopped. Then, change the IP address and restart the service.
-
All JP1/AJS3 services
-
JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service
-
JP1/AJS3 Console Agent service
-
JP1/AJS3 Queueless Agent service
-
JP1/AJS3 Queueless File Transfer service
-
-
You can change the IP address of an agent host in an environment where event jobs were used in the past, and the option for changing the agent host information to be used for name resolution is disabled. In this case, after changing the IP address of the agent host, you must perform either of the following operations on the manager host on which the event job is defined:
-
Restart the JP1/AJS3 service or JP1/AJS2 service.
-
On the manager host, execute the ajsagtdel and ajsagtadd commands to re-register the execution agent for which the agent host with the new IP address is defined as the execution host.
If the JP1/AJS2 manager host is version 08-00 or later, or if the JP1/AJS3 manager host uses a compatible ISAM configuration database, execute the jpqagtdel and jpqagtadd commands.
If the option for changing the agent host information to be used for name resolution is enabled, operation on the manager host is unnecessary.
For details about this option, see 6.3.19 How to set the option for changing the agent information to be used for name resolution in the Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide 1 (in Windows) or 15.3.19 How to set the option for changing the agent information to be used for name resolution in the Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide 1 (in UNIX).

-
To connect from JP1/AJS3 - View to JP1/AJS3 - Manager of the physical host, be sure to connect to the IP address corresponding to the physical host name.
-
If the connection source restriction function is enabled, you must change the connection permission configuration file if the following IP addresses are changed:
-
IP address of the manager host
On the manager host in which the IP address was changed, change the local IP addresses specified in the manager connection permission configuration file and agent connection permission configuration file. The connection permission configuration files must be changed before the JP1/AJS3 service and JP1/AJS3 Queueless Agent service are restarted.
On the destination host, change the IP addresses specified in the manager connection permission configuration file and agent connection permission configuration file, and then execute the jajs_pmtcon command.
-
IP address of the JP1/AJS3 - View host
On the destination manager host, change the IP address specified in the manager connection permission configuration file, and then execute the jajs_pmtcon command.
For details about how to change a permitted IP address, see 8.11.2 Changing the hosts that are permitted to access JP1/AJS3.
-
-
If you change the IP address of the manager host while a queueless job is running on an agent host, the manager host will be unable to determine the job status when the job terminates. The manager host therefore assumes Unknown end status. Before you change the IP address, make sure that no queueless jobs are running. If you have changed the IP address before a queueless job running on an agent host has terminated, use the queueless log files on the agent host to check the termination status of the job.
-
Before you install, remove, enable, or disable the IPv4 or IPv6 protocol for the running host, stop the JP1/AJS3 services.
