3.3.1 Evaluating the service template to be used and the targets of operation
Analyze the current operation procedures and evaluate the following items when you have determined the operation procedures that are to be automated:
-
Service templates to be used
JP1/AO provides as the JP1/AO standard package and the JP1/AO Content Set various types of service templates, including service templates that support setup, operation, and error handling of various JP1 products, virtual server operations, and cloud operations. If you want to automate your system operations without using these JP1/AO-provided service templates, consider creating service templates. You can create a new service template, or copy and edit a service template provided by JP1/AO.
-
Target devices when services are run
After you have decided the service template to be used, check whether its prerequisites are satisfied by the operating environments of the target devices that will perform the IT operations automatically, such as the servers and storage. For details about the prerequisites for service templates, see the descriptions of the prerequisites for the individual service templates in the manual Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Operation Service Template Reference.
Note that you will also use the devices evaluated here when you evaluate access control for connection destinations in the operation design.
If you decide to change the service template to be used after you have evaluated the services, re-evaluate the operation design and system design as necessary.
