4.3 Virtual Manager Settings window
The Virtual Manager Settings window sets virtualization management information. This window is opened from the Register Host window or the Edit Host Properties window by clicking the Setup button in the Virtual Manager Type area.
The following figure shows an example of the Virtual Manager Settings window.
The following describes the items displayed in this window.
- Virtual Manager Type

Use this item to select the virtual manager type for the host. One of the following types can be selected:

JP1/SC/CM

SCVMM

HCSM

KVM

- User name
-
Use this item to specify the user name for the selected host if vCenter, SCVMM, HCSM, or KVM is selected as Virtual Manager Type. You can specify a character string that does not contain any control characters and has one to 255 bytes. The specified character string is case sensitive. The previously specified user name is used as the initial value. If no user name was previously specified, a blank is displayed.
- Password

Use this item to specify the password for the selected host if vCenter, SCVMM, or HCSM is selected as Virtual Manager Type. You can specify a character string that does not contain any control characters and has one to 255 bytes. The specified character string is case sensitive. The previously specified password is used as the initial value, but the characters are masked by asterisks (*). If no password was previously specified, a blank is displayed.
- Communication type

Use this item to specify the communication type for the selected host if vCenter, HCSM, or KVM is selected as Virtual Manager Type. The specified character string is not case sensitive. The following table shows the communication types that can be specified and the default values for virtual manager types.

- Port number

Use this item to specify the number of the port that is used to communicate with the selected host if HCSM or KVM is selected as Virtual Manager Type. You can specify a number from 1 to 65,535. The default port number differs depending on the selected virtual manager type. The following table shows the default port numbers for the virtual manager types.

- Private key file name

If KVM is selected as Virtual Manager Type, you can use this text box to specify the absolute path name of the private key file that is used to communicate with the selected host's KVM. You can specify a character string that does not contain any control characters and has one to 256 bytes. The specified character string is case sensitive. Do not enclose the path in double-quotation marks ("), even if it contains spaces. If a file name has already been specified, input complete is displayed. If no file name has been specified, a blank is displayed.
If a file name has already been specified, the Private key file name text box is disabled. In this status, the contents of the box cannot be edited. To change the private key file name, click the Clear button to clear the text box.
- Domain name

If SCVMM is selected as Virtual Manager Type, this text box specifies the domain name of the selected host. You can specify a character string that does not contain any spaces or tabs, and has one to 255 bytes. The specified character string is case sensitive. The previously specified domain name is used as the initial value. If no domain name has previously been specified, a blank is displayed.
