1.4 Creating an IM database
You can use the IM Configuration Management database to manage the hierarchy of a system (IM configuration). You can also use the integrated monitoring database to manage JP1 events. These two databases, which are usually referred to as the IM databases, need to be created to perform the above operations. Note that the IM database is created at the same time as either the IM Configuration Management database or the integrated monitoring database.
You can create the IM database when you need either or both the integrated monitoring database and the IM Configuration Management database during system configuration or after operations have started.
The IM database must start before JP1/IM - Manager Service. See 3.1.1 In Windows in the Job Management Partner 1/Integrated Management - Manager Administration Guide to use the startup control function to set it.
