1.2.8 Notes on using an abstract data type

An abstract data type cannot be used in any of the following items:

Definition of an index
Sorting
Grouping
Set, arithmetic or concatenation operations
Set functions
Duplicates elimination
CASE expressions
CAST specification
Reference columns to outside

An abstract data type can be used for definition of an index by using a plug-in function.
