Scalable Database Server, HiRDB Version 8 UAP Development Guide
- When a UAP operating under a DBMS other than HiRDB accesses a HiRDB database by using the distributed server facility of HiRDB, character strings such as names that are specified in SQL statements must be spelled carefully. Whereas character strings are not case sensitive in XDM/RD, HiRDB requires that lowercase character strings be enclosed in quotation marks in order to distinguish them from uppercase character strings. Therefore, if an SQL statement that is used to access a HiRDB database contains a character string that must be recognized as lowercase characters, it must be enclosed in quotation marks.
- If a table identifier or column name contains both 1- and 2-byte characters, that table cannot be accessed from an XDM/RD UAP.
