Job Management Partner 1/Software Distribution Client Description and User's Guide
To collect multiple directories and files as a single resource, create the collection path file. If the file name of a single file exceeds 64 characters using the absolute path, create the collection path file also. You can distribute the collection path file to other systems using remote installation as well as you can create the collection path file in the UNIX machine that performs remote collection.
To create the collection path file, use a text editor like the settings file.
- Organization of this subsection
- (1) Format of the collection path file
- (2) Example of creating the collection path file
(1) Format of the collection path file
The format of the collection path file is as follows:
file-name or directory-name[ {f|d}]Where, indicates a tab code and indicates that you should press the Enter key.
- file-name or directory-name
- Specify the file name or the directory name of the resource to be collected.
- {f|d}
- Specify whether the specified name is a file or a directory. When you specify f or d, the system checks whether the resource matches the resource that is specified when remote collection is executed.
- If you do not specify this value, the specified file is collected if the specified name is a file name. If the specified name is a directory name, the specified directory and all the files under that directory are collected.
- f
- Indicates a file.
- d
- Indicates a directory.
Create the collection path file according to the following rules:
- You can specify a blank instead of a tab ().
- You can create the collection path file in any directory. However, the file name of the collection path file must be 63 characters or less using the absolute path.
- The maximum length of a line in the collection path file is 1,024 bytes including the code () for the pressed Enter key.
- If you specify # in the first column, that line is treated as a comment.
(2) Example of creating the collection path file
An example of creating the collection path file is as follows:
# Collected resource 1 (specifies a file) /local/users/work/file1 f # Collected resource 2 (specifies a directory) /local/users/program d # Collected resource 3 /local/users/tempThe distribution-destination system checks if Collected resource 1 and Collected resource 2 are files or directories before executing remote collection.
