2.6.4 Notes on configuring the managing server

Note the following when you use the managing server to set the distribution job for OS patches:

• Do not specify the following options in the rdsdmind command that is executed when you create the distribution job:
  
  • -f
  • -v
  • -g
  • -m
  • -o
  • -t
  For the -k option, you can specify only D, J, or M.
  
• You may not be able to change the attributes of the package when you register an OS patch in the managing server of JP1/Software Distribution Manager for Windows. In addition, you cannot select the Replace existing package check box in the System Conditions page in the Change Installation Conditions dialog box of JP1/Software Distribution Manager for Windows. Therefore, when you perform overwrite installation for an OS patch, execute the rdslistdel command from JP1/Software Distribution Manager for UNIX before you distribute the OS patch and delete the user resource installation information in the distribution-destination systems.
