HP NNM allows you to monitor the operation status of JP1/AJS3 - Manager, the execution status of jobs in jobnets, and the operation status of JP1/AJS3 - Agent. In addition, you can monitor a status that a user has reported.
This section describes what HP NNM can monitor for JP1/AJS3 - Manager and JP1/AJS3 - Agent.
This chapter refers to HP NNM as NNM.
What you can accomplish with NNM is explained separately for both JP1/AJS3 - Manager and JP1/AJS3 - Agent.
- With NNM, you can accomplish the following for JP1/AJS3 - Manager
- Monitoring the operation status of JP1/AJS3 - Manager#
You can monitor the operation status of JP1/AJS3 - Manager using the symbols that are shown in the node submap in NNM.
In addition, you can obtain detailed information regarding the operation status from the messages shown in the Alarms Browser or another window.
- Monitoring the execution status of jobs in jobnets#
You can monitor the execution status of jobs managed by JP1/AJS3 - Manager by utilizing the symbols shown in the node submap in NNM.
In addition, you can obtain detailed information regarding the execution status of jobs from the messages shown in the Alarms Browser or another window.
- Monitoring a desired status#
NNM allows you to use symbols shown in the node submap to monitor a status that a user has reported, when the OpenView Status Report job is executed. In addition, you can obtain the words the user has reported from the messages shown in the Alarms Browser or another window.
- Checking the operating environment of JP1/AJS3 - Manager
NNM allows you to check the operating environment of JP1/AJS3 - Manager (for example, the names of JP1/AJS3 services, operation status of JP1/AJS3 - Manager, the start time of operations, and other information).
- Monitoring the status of executed jobnets
When you use NNM, you can activate JP1/AJS3 - View from NNM. You can monitor the status of executed jobnets managed by JP1/AJS3 - Manager using the Jobnet Monitor, Daily Schedule, and Monthly Schedule windows of JP1/AJS3 - View.
Note that JP1/AJS3 - View and version 08-00 or later of JP1/AJS2 - View do not support HP-UX or Solaris. You can only link to NNM from JP1/AJS3 - View and version 08-00 or later of JP1/AJS2 - View on a Windows system.
