16.2 Login screen

Launching JP1/AJS3 Console View displays the Login screen. This screen is the first screen that you use to log in to the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host.

If login information is invalidated during communication with JP1/AJS3 Console View, the Login screen also appears for relogging in.

The following explains the display items of the Login screen.

User name
Enter the JP1 user name that you use to log in to the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host. You must register this user name in advance in the authentication server that the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host at the other end of connection destination references.
You can specify the user name in single-byte alphanumeric characters. Even if you enter the user name in uppercase letters, JP1/AJS3 Console View authenticates it as lowercase letters.

Password
Enter the user password that you use to log in to the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host. The characters that you enter for the password are case-sensitive.
JP1/AJS3 Console View displays asterisks (*) for the characters you enter for the password.

Host to connect
Enter the host name or IP address of the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host that you want to connect.
When you log in to the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host for the first time, the default is blank. After the first time you log in to the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host, the default is the name of the previously connected JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host. The dropdown list contains up to ten names of the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager hosts that were connected in the past.

If you enter the above items and click the OK button, the Main Scope window appears.

Supplementary note
Setting automatic login in the Preferences dialog box lets you to log into the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host without displaying the Login screen. You can also use the ajscon command to log into the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager host without displaying the Login screen. For details about this command, see the description of ajscon in 2.
