You can customize JP1/AJS3 Console View to make it more convenient to use.

The method for customizing the Main Scope window and the Sub Scope window can be categorized into three ways. The following sections explain these methods that you can use.

Organization of this section
(1) Specifying by a user configuration file (ajs2coview_opt.conf)
(2) Specifying by a common configuration file(ajscon.conf)
(3) Specifying in the Preferences dialog box

(1) Specifying by a user configuration file (ajs2coview_opt.conf)

The user configuration file (ajs2coview_opt.conf) allows the customized information to take effect for each JP1 user who logs in to JP1/AJS3 Console View.

To perform customization by using a user configuration file:

  1. Create a user configuration file.
To create the ajs2coview_opt.conf file, copy the ajs2coview_opt.conf.model file into any given folder. The folder where the ajs2coview_opt.conf.model file is stored is shown below.
    JP1/AJS3 - View-installation-folder\conf
  2. Specify the setting to be customized in the file.
For the setting to be customized in the file, see the following sections.
  3. Save the file in the following location and rename the file name to ajs2coview_opt.conf.
The folder where the user configuration file is to be stored is shown below.

In Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Vista:
    %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Hitachi\JP1\JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AJS2V\conf\JP1-user-name#
The default value for %ALLUSERSPROFILE% is system-drive\ProgramData.

In Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional:
    JP1/AJS3 - View-installation-folder\conf\JP1-user-name#

    #
When you use the following names for the JP1 user name, enclose in parentheses the name of the folder, which is to be created for each registered JP1 user name.
A device name such as NUL, CON, AUX, COM1 to COM9, LPT1 to LPT9, and PRN
A name in the format of device-name.extension
    A name starting with a period (.)
  4. Start JP1/AJS3 Console View.
After the user configuration file has been saved, JP1/AJS3 Console View starts and the customization details are enabled. To use JP1/AJS3 Console View based on this customized information, be sure to restart JP1/AJS3 Console View.
Alternatively, you can create the ajs2coview_opt.conf file using a tool such as a text editor.

(2) Specifying by a common configuration file(ajscon.conf)

The common configuration file (ajscon.conf) allows customizing information for all the JP1 users who log in to JP1/AJS3 Console View. To perform customization by using the common configuration file:

  1. Specify the customization details in the file.
For more about the customization details in the file, see the following sections.
The folder where the ajscon.conf file is stored is shown below.
    JP1/AJS3 - View-installation-folder\conf
  2. Overwrite the file and start JP1/AJS3 Console View.
After the common configuration file has been saved, JP1/AJS3 Console View starts and the customization details are enabled. To use JP1/AJS3 Console View based on this customized information, be sure to restart JP1/AJS3 Console View.
