10.2 Finding and displaying units

You can specify search conditions in the Search window for the following windows to search for units.

To search for jobnets and jobs:

  1. Display the applicable window from which you want to display the Search window.
    The applicable window appears.
  2. In the window, click the jobnet or job group you want to search.
    In the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Summary Monitor window), you can click a root jobnet in the summary list or unit detailed information list. In other windows, you can click a job group or a jobnet in the tree area. The job group or jobnet you clicked is now highlighted.
  3. Choose Edit and then Search.
    The following Search window appears.

    The Search location text box displays the full name of the job group or jobnet you clicked in step 2.

    Cautionary notes
    • Although you select a unit in the list area of the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) or the map area of the Jobnet Editor window to display the Search window, the Search location text box also displays the full name of the unit selected in the tree area of the initial window. If you want to change the unit displayed in the Search location text box, click the ... button to display the Search Location dialog box. You can change the unit in this dialog box.
    • If you select a unit other than a root jobnet in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Summary Monitor window) to display the Search window, the Search location text box displays the full name of the upper-level root jobnet of the selected unit. If you want to change the unit displayed in the Search location text box, click the ... button to display the Search Location dialog box. You can change the unit in this dialog box.
    • The Search window does not appear if you select multiple units or no units.
  4. In the search condition setting area, specify the search conditions, such as the name and type of the unit.
  5. Click the Search button.
    The search result list area displays the search results (units) that match the search conditions.
    If you want to stop the search before it is finished, click the Cancel button.
  6. Check the units displayed in the search result list area.
    You can manipulate the units displayed in the search result list area as needed by using the operation menus.

Supplementary notes
  • You cannot manipulate the units displayed in the search result list area until the search ends or until it is canceled.
  • The operation menus you can use differ according to the option you select in Search object in the search condition setting area. For details, see 15.10.2 Menu commands.
  • You can change the columns in the search result list area. For details about the procedure, see 11.10.2 Specifying the columns displayed in the search result list area.
  • You can save a maximum of 32 search conditions. The procedures for saving and deleting search conditions are as follows:

To save a search condition:
  1. In the search condition setting area, specify a search condition.
  2. Click the Save button.
    The Save Search Condition dialog box appears.
  3. Specify the name of the search condition you want to save.
  4. Click OK.
    The Save Search Condition dialog box closes.
    The search condition is saved under the name you entered in step 3. If you save a search condition under an existing name, the existing search condition is overwritten.
    You can display the saved search condition in the search condition specification area by selecting its name from the Search Condition drop-down list.

To delete a saved search condition:
  1. From the Search Condition drop-down list, select the name of the search condition you want to delete.
    The Search Condition drop-down list indicates the selected name.
    The selected search condition appears in the search condition specification area.
  2. Click the Delete button.
    The search condition you selected in step 1 is deleted.
  • You can upload saved search conditions to a user common profile that JP1 users can share by downloading. For details about user common profiles, see 11.1.2 Using user common profiles.
