(1) Notes when there are different versions of JP1/AJS - Manager and JP1/AJS - View
(a) Notes on monitoring the jobnet's end delay for the time-required-for-execution
- When JP1/AJS2 - View 06-71 or earlier and JP1/AJS - View 07-00 or later coexist, and they connect to JP1/AJS - Manager 07-00 or later:
You cannot use JP1/AJS2 - View 06-71 or earlier to check the Time-required-for-execution for the jobnets defined by JP1/AJS - View 07-00 or later. Therefore, you might be notified of the end of the jobnet earlier than expected by the end delay monitoring.
- When JP1/AJS - View 07-00 or later connects to JP1/AJS2 - Manager 06-71 or earlier:
In JP1/AJS2 - Manager 06-71 or earlier, Time-required-for-execution for jobnet monitoring cannot be defined. Therefore, even JP1/AJS - View 07-00 or later cannot display the jobnet's time-required-for-execution as a jobnet property. JP1/AJS - View is also unable to display the jobnet's time-required-for-execution on the Change Delay Monitor Temporarily window.
- When JP1/AJS2 - View 06-71 or earlier connects to JP1/AJS - Manager 07-00 or later:
In JP1/AJS - Manager 07-00 or later, Time-required-for-execution for jobnet monitoring might be defined. However, if the version of JP1/AJS2 - View is 06-71 or earlier, it cannot display the jobnet's time-required-for-execution.
(b) Notes on the end status of event jobs after the timeout period expires when "Timeout period" and "Status after termination" are defined
When JP1/AJS2 - View 06-71 or earlier and JP1/AJS - View 07-00 or later coexist, and JP1/AJS2 - View 06-71 or earlier connects to JP1/AJS - Manager 07-00 or later, JP1/AJS2 - View 06-71 or earlier cannot display Status after termination for the event jobs defined in JP1/AJS - View 07-00 or later.
Therefore, if you use JP1/AJS - View 07-00 or later to execute an event job with Timeout period and Status after termination defined, and use JP1/AJS2 - View 06-71 or earlier to check the result after the timeout period expires, Status after termination specified in JP1/AJS - View 07-00 or later is not displayed.
- Example: When the status after termination is normal:
- JP1/AJS - View 07-00 or later is used to define an event job, specifying Timeout period and setting Status of termination to Ended normally.
- When using JP1/AJS2 - View 06-71 or earlier to check the event job, Status after termination is not displayed.
- When the event job is executed using JP1/AJS2 - View 06-71 or earlier and the timeout period expires, the end status is displayed as Ended normally.
(c) Notes on using planning groups
When JP1/AJS2 - View 06-51 or earlier connects to JP1/AJS - Manager 06-71 or later, the JP1/AJS - View displays planning groups as job groups, thus allowing you to change or delete unit definitions.
When a planning group is displayed as a job group, you can specify it as a unit referenced by the manager job group. A lower root jobnet can be specified as a unit referenced by the manager jobnet. However, there are the following restrictions on planning groups displayed as job groups:
- You can register root jobnets only for fixed execution with a period specified.
- You can only create root jobnets and remote jobnets under a planning group.
(d) Notes on using a jobnet connector to control the execution order
- When you are connected to JP1/AJS - Manager 08-10 or later from JP1/AJS2 - View 08-01 or earlier, the jobnet connector is handled as an unknown jobnet and its icon appears as a question mark (?). You can move and delete units, but if you attempt an unsupported operation such as displaying the unit definition, error message KAVV502-E or KAVV556-E is output.
- When you are connected to JP1/AJS - Manager 08-50 or later from JP1/AJS2 - View 08-10, and you are using a jobnet connector to control root jobnets managed by different scheduler services, you cannot perform the following operations in JP1/AJS2 - View 08-10:
- If you attempt to display the Define Details dialog box for a root jobnet, planning group, or jobnet connector for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, message KAVV455-E appears and the dialog box is not displayed.
- If you display the Define Details dialog box for a root jobnet or planning group, and attempt to update the definition by specifying in Jobnet Connector the name of a jobnet connector for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, message KAVV455-E appears and the update fails.
- If you display the Define Details dialog box for a jobnet connector, and attempt to update the definition by specifying in Connect destination the name of a root jobnet or planning group for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, message KAVV455-E appears and the update fails.
- If you attempt to display the Monitor Details dialog box for a jobnet connector or root jobnet (including a root jobnet in a planning group) for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, sometimes message KAVV455-E appears and the dialog box is not displayed.
- If you display the Monitor Details dialog box for a root jobnet (including a root jobnet in a planning group) for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, and the generations are not in a connected relationship, None appears in either Exec. ID (Source) or Exec. ID (Destination).
- If you attempt to display the Detailed Schedule dialog box for a planning group or root jobnet (including a root jobnet in a planning group) for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, sometimes message KAVV455-E appears and the dialog box is not displayed.
- If you attempt to display the Detailed Schedule dialog box for a root jobnet (including a root jobnet in a planning group), planning group, or jobnet connector for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, and the generations are not in a connected relationship, None appears in either Exec. ID (Source) or Exec. ID (Destination).
- If you attempt to perform any of the following operations to display the connection-destination jobnet of a jobnet connector for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, message KAVV455-E or KAVV871-E appears and the connection-destination jobnet is not displayed:
- Choose View, Connect destination, and then Daily Schedule (Hierarchy).
- Choose View, Connect destination, and then Daily Schedule (All Jobs).
- Choose View, Connect destination, and then Monthly Schedule.
- Choose View, Connect destination, and then Jobnet Monitor.
- If you attempt to create a new unit in a root jobnet or planning group for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, message KAVV455-E appears and the unit cannot be created.
- If you attempt to create a start condition by choosing Edit and then Define Start Condition for a root jobnet for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, message KAVV455-E appears and the start condition cannot be created.
- If you select a root jobnet or planning group for which Other service is specified for Connection range in the execution order control settings, and choose Options and Save as Jobnet Connector, followed by Edit and then Auto-create Jobnet Connector, message KAVV455-E appears and you cannot create the jobnet connector.
To perform the above operations successfully, upgrade JP1/AJS - View to the same version as JP1/AJS - Manager.
