You can display in the Event Details window the attribute value labels of the NNMi incident attributes Category and Family. The mapping definition file is used to specify the mapping needed to display these labels in the Event Details window.
You must create a mapping definition file when the attribute values of Category and Family include user-defined values in addition to the NNMi-provided attribute values. You must also define a mapping definition file when you want to display in the Event Details window labels that are different from the attribute value labels provided by NNMi.
