(1) System resources required for PFM - Base
The following table describes the system resources required for PFM - Base.
System resources Parameter Estimate File system nfile 30 nflocks 30 ninode 30 maxfiles 30 maxfiles_lim 30 Shared memory shmmni -- shmmax -- shmseg -- Semaphore semmni -- semmns -- semume -- semmnu -- semvmx -- Process nproc 3 + 2 x Number of commands to be executed simultaneously# maxuprc -- nkthread -- max_thread_proc -- Message queue msgmni -- msgmax -- msgmnb -- msgtql -- Memory maxdsiz 2,048,000 maxssiz 2,048,000

- The maximum number of commands to be executed simultaneously. For example, if you use the system in such a manner that the jpctool db backup -direct command is executed simultaneously on multiple agents, this value corresponds to the number of times the command is executed simultaneously.
(2) System resources required for using Store 2.0 as the Store database for PFM - Agent or PFM - RM
The following table describes the additional system resources required when using the Store 2.0 functionality supported from version 08-11 of PFM - Base and PFM - Manager.
System resources Parameter Estimate (additional requirement) File system nfile Number of files opened by the Store service# ninode maxfiles maxfiles_lim
- #
- For details on how to estimate the number of files opened by the Store service, see C.4(1)(d) Number of files opened by the Store service. You can use the ulimit command to change the maximum number of files that can be opened at one time. If the estimate for the kernel parameters exceeds the upper limit for the system, use the ulimit command to re-specify a larger value.
