Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management Planning and Configuration Guide
The system administrator should examine how to obtain the backed up data with Performance Management in case of data loss due to problems such as a disk malfunction. The following indicates when to use Performance Management to back up the required data.
- Operating information
- The operating information data (performance data and event data) collected by Performance Management is backed up. Because this operating information data is updated daily, Hitachi recommends that you obtain the data regularly, weekly or monthly, as needed.
- Definition information
- Data such as definition files of required services for running Performance Management and the configuration data, such as alarms and reports, is backed up. Hitachi recommends that you back up this definition information whenever the system configuration or settings are changed.

You should examine the methods for exporting the obtained operating information so that it can be used by other applications.
Operating information is backed up and exported using the operation command (the jpctool db command). For details on how to back up data, see the chapter that describes backing up and restoring in the Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management User's Guide.
- Point:
- Operating information can be automatically managed by registering operation commands in a job scheduler or other function.
