2.3.7 Displaying events

Events that occur in the Performance Management system can be checked from the PFM - Console Event Monitor window. The following three types of event information can be checked from the Event Monitor window:

The Event Monitor window displays a list of events in the order they occurred. You can check the agent status, alarm status, and health check status based on the icon color and appearance.

To display events:

  1. In the menu bar frame of the main window, select the Event Monitor menu.
    The Event Monitor window is displayed.

    This following table explains the meaning of the main icons that are displayed in the Event Monitor window. For details on the items displayed on the window, see the chapter that describes displaying events in the Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management User's Guide or see the description about the Event Monitor window in the manual Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management Reference.

    Table 2-2 Details of event monitors

    Icon Description
    Agent event icon [Figure] The monitoring agent is operating normally or has not been started yet (status unknown).
    [Figure] The monitoring agent is in warning status.
    [Figure] The monitoring agent is in abnormal status.
    Alarm event icon [Figure]
    (green)
    A normal alarm event has occurred.
    [Figure]
    (yellow)
    A warning alarm event has occurred.
    [Figure]
    (red)
    An abnormal alarm event has occurred.
    [Figure] This icon indicates that an alarm notification is sent each time the alarm is triggered.
    This icon is displayed only when Always notify is selected as the alarm definition.
    Health check event icon [Figure] Not Supported#
    [Figure] Running#
    [Figure] Incomplete#
    [Figure] Stopped#
    [Figure] Unconfirmed#
    [Figure] Host Not Available#
    Report icon Icons including [Figure] There is a linked report.
    n/a or - There is not a linked report.

    A report icon is displayed in the Report column when a report is linked to an alarm event. Click the icon to display the linked report.
    For example, if a report is checked because an alarm occurred, you can analyze from the report that the CPU usage has increased due to a particular program.

Reference note: What should be done to display a report from the event monitor
Reports linked to alarms cannot be viewed from the event monitor unless the report is defined as such when the alarm is defined.
