3.1.2 Changing the remote control mode of the agent in the view mode

When the agent is in view mode, the user cannot operate the agent machine. When you need to operate the local machine from the agent, take the following steps to change the remote control mode.

For Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows NT 4.0
  1. Press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys.
The agent shifts to the shared mode, enabling operations on the agent side.

For Windows Me and Windows 98
  1. Press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys.
The Close Program dialog box appears.
  2. Click the Cancel button.
The agent shifts to the shared mode, enabling operations on the agent side.

When you take these steps to shift the agent from the view to shared mode, the controller is notified of this action. On the controller, a message dialog box appears asking you whether it is OK to change the controller from the exclusive to the shared mode.

If you agree to the change in the controller's permission level in this message dialog box, the controller assumes the shared mode, enabling agent operations from both the controller and agent. However, if you do not approve the mode change, the agent reverts to the view mode, preventing the agent side from operating the agent machine.
