8.4 Configuring a server environment

In the configuration of a server environment, you define an environment for the active and standby servers that run on a host.

You can also specify environment settings for locked servers. When you have defined servers as locked servers and a standby server has been started as the active server, you can then terminate the other standby servers on the same host. The servers that are to be terminated are called the locked servers. The reason for doing this is to prevent more than one active server from being run on the same host.
