7.10.3 Changing shared resources

This subsection explains how to change shared resources. Some shared resources can be changed dynamically while hosts and servers are running. For details about changing shared resources dynamically, see 7.10.4 Changing the shared resource configuration while hosts and servers are running.

The procedure for changing shared resources is described below. You must perform this procedure in the active and the standby systems.

  1. Terminate the servers.

You need terminate only servers that use shared resources. HA Monitor can continue running.

  2. Specify the shared resources.

Specify the shared resources to be used. For details, see 6.12 Configuring the shared resources to be used by servers.

  3. Change the definition file containing the environment settings.

Change the server environment definition or other definitions as appropriate for the type of shared resource.

The table below lists the settings to be changed for the various types of shared resources. For details about the server environment definition, see 8.4.1 Server environment definition (servers).
