For Linux(R) (x86) Systems HA Monitor Cluster Software

7.7.1 Automating the operation from system start through server start

This subsection explains how to perform automatically the operations from system start through server start after you turn on the power to the computer. Whether server startup processing can be automated depends on the type of servers.

The following subsections explain how to automate the HA Monitor, resource server, and server startup processing.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Automating the HA Monitor startup processing

Normally, HA Monitor starts automatically after the kernel has started. You can also set HA Monitor to not start automatically. You use the HA Monitor environment setup command (monsetup command) to change this setting.

(2) Automating the resource server startup processing

The resource server is started automatically by HA Monitor. There is no need to specify a setting to automate this processing.

(3) Automating server startup processing

Servers in the server mode can be started automatically by using the method provided by the program. For details, see the program documentation.

Servers in the monitor mode cannot be started automatically. You must use the monitor-mode server start command (monbegin command) to start a server manually.
