5.2.3 Considerations for changing the maximum number of hosts (when using HA Monitor Extension)
When you use HA Monitor Extension, you can change the maximum number of hosts per hot-standby configuration to more than 32. If you will be setting the maximum number of hosts to more than 32, you must provide a machine environment that satisfies the following conditions:
-
Gigabit Ethernet is used for monitoring paths.
-
LANs that support multicasting are used for monitoring paths.
-
Monitoring path throughput is at least 100 megabits/second.
-
All packets can be transmitted completely via monitoring paths when hot standby processing can be performed on servers on all hosts within the hot-standby configuration.
For details about how to check whether all packets are transmitted completely via monitoring paths, see 6.26 Checking the operation when the maximum number of hosts is changed (when using HA Monitor Extension).
