3.5.6 Dynamic change of shared resources
You can dynamically change the shared resources that are to be subject to the hot standby operation, even if the active server cannot be terminated due to 24-hour continuous operation.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Shared resources that can be changed dynamically
You can change the following shared resources:
-
Shared disks
-
LANs
(2) How to change shared resources dynamically
The method depends on the type of resource.
(a) Shared disk
Use the command for dynamically changing a server's shared resources (mondevice command). This command enables you to add and delete shared resources in units specified in the server environment definition.
The figure below provides an overview of dynamically changing shared resources by using the command for dynamically changing a server's shared resources (mondevice command). This example adds a shared disk.
When the user uses the command for dynamically changing a server's shared resources (mondevice command), HA Monitor performs the following processing:
-
Controls the status of the shared resources and performs server connection and disconnection processing (when shared resources are to be added).
-
Automatically changes the server environment definition according to the change made to the shared resources for both the active and the standby servers that share the resources (when shared resources are to be added, changed, or deleted).
(b) LAN
The user adds or deletes information about the LAN to be added or deleted, respectively, to and from the LAN status settings file.
